Metacognition - "Blank Canvas Teaching"

In a recent Common Closure day, I was introduced to "Blank Canvas Teaching", a metacognitive strategy where the teacher leads learners through challenging content and skills, making links and removing misconceptions.

I have been using my visualiser to do this with many of my classes, before assessing learning with mini-plenaries. Attached are some pictures of my 'visualiser book'.

If you have any metacognitive strategies that are impacting your practice or the progress of students, I'd LOVE to hear about them.

If you have any questions you're always welcome in B5!
