RAK Day: Aspiration

On Wednesday 27th November, our students participated in our latest RAK Day, this time focused on the theme of ‘Aspiration.’ The day was designed to inspire students by broadening their knowledge of future pathways and empowering them to make informed decisions.

The RAK Day curriculum is designed to equip students with the skills and strategies to navigate challenges, make confident decisions, and build resilience. From exploring career opportunities to understanding the importance of seeking help when needed, these sessions prepare our students for the wider adult world and encourage them to make a positive contribution to society.

Here's what each year group experienced during the day:

  • Year 7: Students explored the impact of fast fashion, learned about careers in the NHS, gained career awareness through Fareham College, reflected on their digital footprint, and challenged gender career misconceptions.

  • Year 8: Students participated in enterprise activities, fostering creativity and innovation.

  • Year 9: Students attended the Careers Fair and engaged in GCSE option taster sessions to help them make informed subject choices.

  • Year 10: Students took part in sessions with the Southern Universities Network (SUN), learned about work experience opportunities, and attended the ‘Go to Uni’ session delivered by the University of Portsmouth.

  • Year 11: Students deepened their understanding of post-16 options by attending the Careers Fair.
