After leaving Fareham Academy in 2019, William attended CEMAST, where he achieved D* D* D* in a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering. He then went on to study at the University of Brighton, recently completing his Master’s degree (MEng) in Aeronautical Engineering in May 2025. Following his graduation in August, William will begin a graduate role with Ontic in Gloucester as a Graduate Engineer in the aerospace industry.

Among his notable achievements, William has represented the Welsh Exiles during his time at Fareham Academy and CEMAST, completed a Level 2 Certificate in Mental Health Awareness, and served as the Course Representative for Level 7 Engineers at university.

Reflecting on his journey, William said: “My time at Fareham Academy set the foundations for where I am today. In my early years at school, I couldn’t decide what I wanted to do, but through the guidance and encouragement of staff — especially my physics teacher, Mr Herington — I realised I wanted to be an engineer. Without that support, I wouldn’t now hold a Master’s degree!”

We are extremely proud of all our students’ achievements, both past and present, and we value the lasting connection we share with those who have moved on from Fareham Academy. Hearing about the journeys, successes and experiences of our former students helps us celebrate their accomplishments and inspire future generations.
