Barcelona Trip 2026

Day 1 - Friday 20th March

Students departed from Fareham Academy and travelled to Gatwick Airport for their flight to Barcelona, arriving at El Prat de Llobregat Airport. Upon arrival, they transferred by coach to the hotel, where they dropped off their luggage before heading out to explore the local area.


Students enjoyed lunch and some free time at a nearby shopping centre before returning to the hotel to check in. Later in the day, they visited the Arc de Triunfo and spent time exploring La Rambla.


The day concluded with an evening meal at the Hard Rock Cafe.



Day 2 - Saturday 21st March

Students began the day with breakfast at the hotel, preparing for a full day of cultural exploration. They then visited the Picasso Museum, where they had the opportunity to explore a wide range of works by the artist and learn more about his life and artistic development.


Following this, students made their way to Port Vell (Marina), where they enjoyed time by the waterfront, taking in the views and having lunch in the area.


In the afternoon, the group visited the Sagrada Familia, one of Barcelona’s most famous landmarks. Students were able to admire the impressive architecture and learn about the history and ongoing construction of this iconic basilica. The day concluded with a relaxed evening meal at Fresco, where students reflected on the day’s experiences.



Day 3 - Sunday 22nd March

Students began the day with breakfast at the hotel before departing by coach for Port Aventura World. They spent the day enjoying a range of rides and attractions, with time set aside for lunch within the park.


In the afternoon, the group travelled back by coach to the hostel to relax after a busy day.


In the evening, students went to Tablao Flamenco for dinner, where they enjoyed a traditional meal followed by a live flamenco show. This provided a memorable cultural experience and a lively end to the day’s activities.



Day 4 - Monday 23rd March

Students began their final day with breakfast at the hotel before visiting La Boqueria Market, where they experienced the vibrant atmosphere and a variety of local produce.


They then explored Parc de la Ciutadella/Gothic Quarter, taking in the history and surroundings of these well-known areas of the city. There was time for lunch before returning to the hostel to collect their bags.


Students then transferred by coach to the airport for their return flight, arriving back at Gatwick Airport later that day. The trip concluded with a coach transfer back to Fareham Academy.
