Having learnt about a variety of topics surrounding inequalities which exist around the world, as part of Year 8's RAK day on the Equality Act, the designers of the winning mural got to bring their vision to life, with the help of local artist and activist, Samo.

The aim of the mural was to showcase the diversity which exists at Fareham Academy and promote inclusivity surrounding our key values. The students wanted the mural to include references to LGBT+, neurodiversity, religion, disability as well as differences in our likes and dislikes as individuals. The two figures on either side represent children of the world and the right every child has to an education, as summarised with Malala's quote. The word 'education' is also written in a variety of languages spoken at Fareham Academy to represent our EAL students.

The students worked exceptionally hard and completed the majority of the mural themselves, with Samo adding the finer details. A massive well done to our Year 8 artists: Faye M, Daisy DK, Tianna N, Yuna CL, Lexi T, Adelaide B, Bella PS.
