On Friday 27th June, Fareham Academy proudly hosted its annual Pride event, celebrating diversity, inclusion, and the power of community.
The day began with tutor time activities introducing students to influential LGBT+ figures and allies, sparking important conversations and learning.
At lunchtime, students who wanted to were able to take part in a Pride-themed bake sale house competition, complete with face painting, followed by the much-anticipated Pride Fair after school. Highlights included:
Staff and student performances, including sneak peeks from our upcoming production of Beauty and the Beast JR.
A visit from a local ice cream van, which was a huge hit
A sizzling barbecue run by Headteacher Mr Prankerd
Stalls from local community members and youth charities, offering trinkets and support resources.
Together, we raised an incredible £624.21 through efforts including non-uniform donations, the bake sale, and the barbecue. All proceeds will go to our Pride Group and a local LGBT+ youth charity.
Congratulations to our Bake Sale House Competition winners:
1st Place – Charlotte S (Year 8, Gaia House) – 10 House Points
