Congratulations to Team Bytemarks on their outstanding achievements at the regional finals of the First Lego League Challenge on 14th March!
Competing at the prestigious National Oceanographic Centre in Southampton, the team demonstrated the competition's core values of Innovation, Discovery, Impact, Inclusivity, and Fun throughout the event. Over a challenging 30-minute period, they delivered two presentations, tackled in-depth questioning on their robot design and solutions for tackling ocean oil spills, and showed remarkable adaptability whilst collaborating to refine their robot’s performance across three rounds of the Robot Game.
Their dedication over the past six months has been exceptional, with countless lunchtime, after-school, and remote evening sessions spent perfecting their project. Their teamwork, aspiration, resilience, and kindness were evident throughout the competition as they supported one another and encouraged their fellow competitors.
Against 10 other schools, including experienced teams, Bytemarks embraced the experience as a learning opportunity, gaining insight into careers in marine biology, robotics, and offshore engineering.
Their hard work paid off by the end of the event when they won the Robot Design Award, earning them a trophy and a coveted First Lego League medal which will soon be proudly displayed in the Academy's Reception.
Well done, Team Bytemarks!
