Last week, our Year 8 and 9 students embarked on an exciting trip to France, filled with culture, history, and unforgettable experiences.
In the early hours of Friday morning, the group departed from the Academy and began their journey to Château de Grande Romaine, arriving later that evening. Upon arrival, students took a tour of the Château, exploring its beautiful grounds before enjoying some free time outdoors. After dinner, both staff and students came together for the evening's entertainment—a silent disco!
On Saturday, the group set off for a highly anticipated day at Disneyland Paris. Students spent the day exploring the park, enjoying the rides, and meeting the famous characters. That evening, back at the Château, students had some free time before taking part in a crêpe-making activity. They enjoyed preparing their own crêpes and adding their choice of toppings for dessert.
On Sunday 23rd March, the group visited the Eiffel Tower, where students climbed to the first floor to take in breathtaking views of Paris. This was followed by an hour-long cruise along the River Seine, offering a unique perspective of some of the city’s most iconic landmarks. Next, they travelled to Montmartre and Sacré-Cœur, where they explored the charming streets, soaked up the atmosphere, and had time to buy souvenirs or enjoy a Parisian treat. That evening, after returning to the Château for dinner, students had the opportunity to sample escargots (snails)! Many bravely gave it a try, making for a memorable final night.
On Monday, before heading home, the group visited Vimy Ridge War Memorial and Information Centre, where students reflected on the significance of this historic site. They then began their journey back to Fareham Academy, arriving home at approximately 10:30 pm as scheduled.
Our students conducted themselves brilliantly throughout the trip, representing Fareham Academy with pride. A huge well done to all students and staff involved!
