Visit from Rt Hon Suella Braverman KC MP

Today we were visited by Rt Hon Suella Braverman KC, Member of Parliament for Fareham, who came to see our newly reopened library. Suella came to see the fantastic work that Miss Hewitt and our Student Librarians team have accomplished. Thanks to their dedication and the generosity of our community, we now have a collection of over 4,000 books, including both fiction and non-fiction, as well as inclusive options like dyslexia-friendly books.

Suella was particularly impressed by the inclusivity of our collection, catering to all reading ages. She spoke about the Academy's commitment to encouraging reading in young people and called it "inspiring". During her visit, she engaged with our students, asking Head Librarian Maisey N and Deputy Head Librarian Faye M about their favourite authors and genres to read.

Councillor Roger Bird, who has previously visited our library to read to students, also accompanied Suella during her visit. We are grateful for their support and look forward to continuing to foster a love of reading within our community.
