Today, Fareham Academy celebrated the World Day for Cultural Diversity and Development. This annual event, often called Diversity Day, encourages everyone to come together to bridge the gap between cultures. Around the world, cultural diversity events include concerts, educational seminars, workshops, and exhibitions. This year, Fareham Academy proudly participated in activities to support this cause.
Today at the Academy, the following activities took place:
Cultural enrichment lesson activities
Cultural dress
Cultural foods in the Canteen
Henna hand designs
Cultural food sale and competition
Cultural dress: Some of our students chose to wear their own cultural dress for the day and explained its significance to their tutor group, fostering learning, understanding, and appreciation.
Cultural food sale and competition: Students baked or cooked cultural dishes that were sold in the Library for donations to Refugee Crisis Aid UK.
Henna hand designs: With permission, students received Henna hand designs in cultural motifs in the Library during lunchtime.
Staff and students thoroughly enjoyed this enriching day, celebrating the cultures and backgrounds that make our Academy a diverse, vibrant, and inclusive place to learn.
