At the beginning of June, our Year 7 and 8 Girls Football Team competed in the bronze medal match after finishing 4th overall in the league across all schools in Fareham and Gosport.

The team held 2nd place for most of the season, but after missing a few key players in the second round of fixtures, they dropped to 4th, still securing a spot in the finals.

The final match, hosted by Brune Park, saw Fareham Academy face Henry Cort. The first half was fast-paced and end-to-end, with Fareham Academy dominating possession. A standout moment came when Lottie H, the heartbeat of the team, played a brilliant through ball to Demi B, who skilfully beat several players and squared it to Maisie M for the opening goal. Henry Cort equalised shortly after, making it 1–1 at half time.

In the second half, the blistering heat took its toll, and Henry Cort scored four more goals. Fareham Academy rallied with renewed energy and played some excellent football, narrowly missing further goals. In the final minutes, Liv L launched a powerful kick from her hands over the halfway line, Demi B flicked it on, and Maisie M smashed it into the net to bring the final score to 5–2.

Fareham Academy finished the season in 4th place, which is a fantastic achievement!

Please join us in congratulating all the players, including those in the team photo and: Maddison T, Marlie Y, Amelia L, Adelaide B, Ruth S.

You’ve represented the Academy with skill, determination, and pride. Well done, team!
