A huge congratulations to our Year 7 Girls’ Football Team, who came second in the EFL Portsmouth FC Cup last week — an amazing result, especially as they were playing against all Year 8 teams! 👏

The girls battled through six tough group games, winning three, drawing one, and losing two, before defeating Horndean 2–1 in the semi-final, a team that had won the tournament for the past three years! Goals from Alarni-Rae M and Jasmine H secured their spot in the final.

Despite giving it everything, the girls narrowly missed out with a 3–0 loss to TPS in the final. Competing against older, stronger teams took its toll, but their determination, teamwork and resilience were outstanding throughout.

They also got the chance to meet and take part in a Q&A with Pompey player Angie Nixon, which was an inspiring moment for the whole team.

Please join us in congratulating them. We’re so proud of how they represented Fareham Academy on the pitch. ⚽️

Goal Scorers:

  • Emily P – 8

  • Alarni-Rae M – 4

  • Emily W – 4

  • Daisy S – 1

  • Jasmine H – 1
